IP Forensics is an international security and risk management company established in 2008. We have over 15 years’ experience providing global support to clients in over 40 counties across 5 continents. They range from Fortune 100 multinationals, luxury brands, international law firms as well as state and semi state agencies. 

IP Forensics provides a range of specialist services that are tailored to each client’s needs. We take a holistic view of requirements to encompass investigative and protective measures while engaging with clients to understand their business needs, expectations and company culture.  

Our personnel have extensive military and law enforcement experience as well as many years within senior corporate security roles. They hold various professional and academic qualifications and are members of international security organisations such as ASIS International.

Our People

Brendan Mallen CPP - Director

Brendan co-founded IP Forensics in 2008 after a successful career in the military and law enforcement. A retired Defence Forces Captain, he spent 5 years in the Army Ranger Wing, Ireland’s tier one special forces unit as well serving as an explosive ordnance disposal specialist with the Army Ordnance Corps. Brendan also spent 5 years as a police officer after leaving the military.  

With over 40 years’ international experience in the public and private sectors, he brings a wealth of knowledge to IP Forensics’ clients. Brendan’s experience includes high level investigations, consulting and audit with his work contributing to the recovery of millions of euros. He has also appeared in various courts as an expert witness in product identification. 

Brendan holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Physics from the University of Galway and is board certified in security management, achieving Certified Protection Professional (CPP) status from ASIS International In 2001. In 2010, he was awarded Security Professional of the Year at the 85th Annual World Association of Detectives (WAD) Conference.

Joe Cully - Director

Joe joined IP Forensics in 2010 after a successful career in the military and private sector. A retired Defence Forces Captain, he served 17 years in total with many of those within Military Intelligence. During this time, Joe served 3 overseas tours in Lebanon and Western Sahara with the United Nations.  

Prior to joining IP Forensics, Joe held senior management positions within organisations such as FreightWatch, Ericsson and IBM as well as spending 4 years working with an African state, within their financial intelligence agency. He has experience conducting global security reviews, audits, investigations and penetration tests.  

Joe holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Economics and Geography from the University of Galway and is board certified in security management, achieving Certified Protection Professional (CPP) status from ASIS International In 2001.

Lee Brandon - Director of Operations

Lee joined IP Forensics in 2023 bringing over a decade of international experience in protective services. Prior to joining IP Forensics, he led protective operations in over 20 countries and held several roles within large multinational organisations where he was responsible for physical security, travel risk management, emergency response and crisis management.  

Lee holds a Master of Science (MSc) in Security Management and Intelligence from the University of Portsmouth, a Professional Diploma in Project Management from University College Dublin and is board certificated in security management, achieving Certified Protection Professional (CPP) status in 2022. He is an active member of OSAC (Overseas Security Advisory Council) Ireland and is the Chairman of the ASIS Ireland Chapter.
